1. Nadine Ghosn: What inspired you to start BeyondComply 1 year ago?

I had this vision to revolutionize the way companies approach compliance. Specifically, I wanted to create a platform that puts compliance front and center for organizations around the world. In my view, compliance goes far beyond just following rules and regulations. Indeed, it is an integral part of any company’s culture.

My inspirations for BeyondComply were two-fold. First, I wanted to create a company that would make an impact on the world. Second, I sought to provide innovative tools to help organizations of all sizes better understand, implement, and maintain compliance requirements. Above all, my main goal was to help companies succeed in their regulatory compliance efforts. To achieve this, I wanted to provide them with the right technology and resources.

As the founder of BeyondComply, I started the company with a strong desire to make a positive impact in the compliance and training industry. I have over two decades of experience working in the compliance field. During that time, I noticed a significant gap between the quality of services provided by traditional compliance consulting firms and the actual needs of clients. For instance, many clients were dissatisfied with the one-size-fits-all approach of traditional consulting firms. Clearly, a need existed for more customized solutions. Moreover, these solutions needed to be tailored to meet the unique compliance and training requirements of each client.

Therefore, I started BeyondComply to fill this gap. In particular, I wanted to provide a more personalized approach to compliance and training services. So I focused on developing customized solutions that meet our clients’ specific needs. At the same time, I focused on delivering high-quality training and support.

Finally, and more importantly, I felt motivated by the potential to help businesses operate more ethically and sustainably. Notably, compliance is not just a legal requirement. On the contrary, it is an opportunity for businesses to build a culture of ethical behavior and accountability. Consequently, BeyondComply aims to help businesses achieve their compliance goals through tailored compliance and training services. In addition, we promote a more ethical and sustainable business environment.

2. Nadine, what has changed the most since you started your company?

Several significant changes have occurred within the compliance landscape. These changes have had a profound impact on our company and the industry as a whole.

One of the most noticeable changes has been technological advancements. Specifically, technology has played a life-changing role in the compliance field. For example, the widespread adoption of cloud computing and data analytics has occurred. Likewise, the rise of artificial intelligence and automation has also occurred. As a result, technology has revolutionized how we approach compliance.

Cybersecurity threats have also become more prevalent and sophisticated. These threats pose significant risks to organizations worldwide. Consequently, compliance requirements related to cybersecurity have become more stringent.

Finally, in recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on ethical business practices, corporate social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. For instance, stakeholders, including customers, employees, and investors, expect companies to operate with integrity. They also expect companies to prioritize sustainability.

Overall, the compliance landscape has experienced a significant transition since the inception of BeyondComply. Nevertheless, we have adapted and evolved alongside these changes. Through our consultancy and training services, we ensure that our clients stay ahead of regulatory requirements. We also help them leverage technological advancements. In addition, we help them protect data. We help them address cybersecurity risks. Finally, we help them incorporate ethical practices into their compliance programs.

3. Tell us about your proudest moment in BeyondComply since you started your journey?

My proudest moment since starting this journey occurred when BeyondComply received recognition from a prestigious industry organization for our exceptional work in compliance and training.

One of our clients had been struggling to meet compliance requirements. In fact, the client had received several warnings from regulatory bodies. So we stepped in. Then we worked closely with the client to assess their compliance needs. After that, we developed a customized training program. Finally, we implemented a robust compliance management system. The results impressed us. Specifically, we helped the client avoid any further warnings or penalties.

As a result of our work, the client’s compliance record improved significantly. Moreover, the client maintained their reputation and market position. This experience affirmed our commitment to providing high-quality services. At the same time, this experience reinforced our belief that when we focus on the needs of our clients and work collaboratively with them, we can achieve outstanding results.

4. After your success in BeyondComply, what would you say to your younger self?

5. What is one major challenge you’ve faced this year?

One major challenge we faced throughout the year involved delivering a comprehensive training program on artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on financial markets. As an innovative compliance consultancy and training firm, we recognized the growing importance of AI in the financial sector. Therefore, we aimed to equip our clients with the necessary knowledge and skills. However, navigating the ever-evolving landscape of AI proved to be a significant hurdle. Specifically, this landscape includes complex algorithms and regulatory considerations.

We had to continuously update our training materials. We also had to adapt to the rapidly changing technological advancements in AI. This ensured that our clients received accurate and up-to-date information. Additionally, finding the right balance between the technical aspects of AI and its practical implications in financial markets presented a challenge. We aimed to cater to a diverse audience. In particular, this audience had varying levels of expertise in both compliance and technology.

Nonetheless, we embraced this challenge. First, we collaborated with industry experts. Second, we conducted thorough research. Third, we incorporated practical case studies. This approach provided a comprehensive training experience. Ultimately, this experience empowered our clients to navigate the complex intersection of AI and compliance in the financial markets.

6. If there’s one thing you could improve, what would it be?

While I feel grateful for the successes and balance in my life, one thing I could improve is my ability to delegate tasks effectively. As a leader in my industry, I take great pride in involving myself in various aspects of projects. I also take pride in ensuring their success. However, I recognize that delegating more efficiently can empower my team members. For example, they can contribute their expertise. They can also develop their own skills even further. In my view, mastering the art of delegation can create a more collaborative environment. It can also strengthen professional growth within my team. Ultimately, it can help us achieve even greater results.

7. What are your future plans and new developments?

I commit to continually expanding and enhancing BeyondComply’s services. I want to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the changing regulatory landscape. Therefore, our future plans revolve around embracing emerging technologies and innovative approaches to compliance. For example, we plan to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning. In doing so, we will streamline and automate compliance processes.

Furthermore, we focus on further developing our training programs. Specifically, we will provide comprehensive and tailored education to our clients. This education empowers them to navigate complex regulatory frameworks with confidence.

Additionally, we aim to expand our geographical reach. To that end, we will establish strategic partnerships and offices in key markets. This expansion will help us better serve a wider range of industries and organizations.

8. What have you learned from your participation in trainings and seminars this year?

I have gained valuable insights from providing training and seminars this year. Specifically, I have learned that the landscape of compliance is constantly evolving. New regulations and best practices emerge regularly. Therefore, staying up-to-date with the latest developments has played a crucial role. Additionally, ensuring our training materials are current and relevant remains essential.

I have also realized the importance of engaging participants. For this reason, using interactive training methods maximizes participation and knowledge retention. For example, incorporating real-world case studies has proven effective. Similarly, group discussions enhance the learning experience. Likewise, practical exercises work highly effectively.

Finally, I have recognized the significance of tailored training solutions. These solutions must address the specific needs and challenges of different industries and organizations. Consequently, understanding the unique compliance requirements is key. Moreover, understanding industry nuances enables us to deliver targeted and impactful training sessions.

Looking ahead, my focus now centers on expanding BeyondComply’s reach and impact. To achieve this, I will leverage technology and innovation. We actively develop online platforms and digital training solutions. These solutions make our expertise and resources accessible to a wider audience across the globe and in various languages.

Additionally, we create partnerships with international organizations, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders. Through these partnerships, we collaborate on initiatives that drive forward compliance excellence on a global scale.
