Over the years, the Alhambra collection has become Van Cleef & Arpels’ icon of luck. Since 1968, its emblematic aesthetic has lent itself to elegant interpretations of materials and functions. Today, the Maison introduces transformable jewelry to the collection.
Born in 2006, the Magic Alhambra aesthetic reinterprets Van Cleef & Arpels’ icon of luck in creations with its signature asymmetrical arrangement of different-sized motifs. This year, new long necklaces follow in the Maison’s tradition of transformable pieces. For the first time, they can be worn in various ways, including as a long necklace, as a necklace and as a bracelet, thanks to a detachable element. These new jewelry creations captivate the eye with elegant color combinations.
Two Vintage Alhambra reversible rings with a beaded double contour now present new plays of materials and colors. On one of them, the gray mother-of-pearl catches the eye with its lustrous beauty. When the motif is turned, it gives way to a diamond whose brilliance harmonizes with the rose gold guilloché aesthetic. On the second creation, white gold blends with chalcedony. The other surface reveals a diamond that shimmers in the light, intensified by the fine lines of the guilloché gold.
Faithful to its tradition of jewels that tell time, Van Cleef & Arpels also presents a Sweet Alhambra watch to complete the timepiece line. It offers time an elegant and refined setting, thanks to alternating motifs combining precious and ornamental stones with guilloché white gold; a premiere in the collection.
Catherine Renier, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels says:
“The Alhambra collection, created in 1968, continues to demonstrate its capacity for both self-renewal and perpetuity. With the introduction of transformable pieces, it offers new aesthetic variations that play on the dimensions of motif and various materials, with greater options for wear. More than ever, the enduring elegance of Alhambra creations couples with their versatility, a core value of the collection since its inception.”
