Nidal Assaf: A Pillar of Public Service

Nidal Assaf Abou Dargham represents a powerful synergy between dedicated public service and transformative community leadership. For 25 years, she has served as a cornerstone of Lebanon’s Real Estate Registry at the Ministry of Finance. In this vital role, she contributes to the foundational framework of property rights and state revenue—work that requires precision, integrity, and a deep understanding of administrative law, directly supporting economic stability and public trust.

Parallel to her distinguished career, Nidal has forged an equally impressive path as a civil society champion. Her nine-year tenure as Head of the Beirut Women’s Union was marked by advocacy and action, positioning her at the forefront of the fight for gender equality and social justice in Lebanon. This commitment to systemic progress is further evidenced by her role on the Founding Committee for the Public Sector, where she helps shape the future of governance and institutional reform.

Her drive for service knows no borders. During her time in the United States, she channeled her organizational skill and compassion into founding an elderly support group, addressing critical needs for community and care. She also remained actively engaged with diaspora networks as a member of Arab Ladies and ADS Ladies, fostering cultural connections and mutual support abroad.

At the heart of her story is a strong family foundation. She is the proud mother of twin daughters—Carla, a doctor in the U.S., and Carmen, an engineer in London—and shares an academic background in Political Science with her husband, who is currently completing his law degree. Now, having returned to Lebanon five months ago, Nidal brings this wealth of professional expertise, international perspective, and unwavering passion back to her homeland.

Ultimately, Nidal Assaf Abou Dargham is a figure defined by commitment. Whether safeguarding legal documents or advocating for societal advancement, her work is united by a core mission: to empower, to serve, and to build a more equitable community for all.
