A career is often perceived as a lifelong commitment to a single job, influenced by societal norms, parental expectations, or the prevailing economic environment. My journey began with studying banking and finance, a popular choice within business management at the time. Graduating with Honors and a Master’s degree, I embarked on a career in corporate banking, excelling in my roles and consistently exceeding targets. I believed this was my destined path—an endless climb up the corporate ladder, unaware of what lay on the “Other Side.” Then, the Covid-19 pandemic struck, changing everything.

During the pandemic, with increased time at home and rising financial pressures, I revisited a long-neglected talent—my background in the arts. Equipped with business analysis proficiency, financial modeling skills, and a love for creativity, I decided to pivot my career. With the support of my family, I founded Buttercream Cake Design business, where I combine my artistic background with my business acumen. Each cake I create is a personal expression of my vision, crafted with care and attention to detail.

Embracing the Challenges of Entrepreneurship: A New Way of Working
The transition from being a bank employee to owning a small business was challenging, both physically and emotionally. The familiar struggles of corporate life, such as vying for recognition and advancement, were replaced by the demands of entrepreneurship—long hours, sacrifices of family time, and working through holidays. Setting priorities and knowing when to take a break became essential.
